After that, did you unconeect GPIO0 from GND and leave it pulled-up for Execution mode ?
(BTW, it is better to have also a pullup on GPIO2)

- Wed May 11, 2016 6:50 am #47287 Apparently the new firmware caused a high current peak at boot time. That is the reason why my USB UART TTL converter shut down and got unavailable immediately after plugging it in. I managed to successfully boot new firmware by adding a 100uF capacitor between GND and VCC. I find it kind of weird, but it works.
