So, I want to know why to flash esp modules?

One told me about nodemcu devkit, that it's already having lua firmware, and I don't have to flash it.

Does that means esp modules don't have any firmware from the manufacturer?
What flashing options, are there other possible firmware for esp modules?

- Tue Sep 22, 2015 7:54 pm #29683 You can flash them with node mcu lua. From the arduino ide with arduino code compiled for the esp. Ther are some other firmware avaiable as well. I have a project making a basic i terperter for the esp8266 http://esp8266basic.com
