Description
My ESP8266 project is a ESP8266 firmware plus a server (based on node.js) it can communicate with. It allows to connect WS2812 leds to the chip that can then be controlled by a webinterface.

You can activate the light based on time triggers, REST calls or an own email that is automatically assigned to every chip that connects to the server.

There can be configured complex animations so this solution can be used from wakeup-light to a christmas show using no programming.

The webinterface is easy to use, responsive and there is no need to setup an own server, there is a public available one.
If reset is wired correctly, there is also an automatic standby mode that allows to use the chips on battery. They will then connect in configurable time intervals to the server to see if the light has to be changed in some way.

Configuring the chip is easy: After flashing the firmware it will offer a wifi hotspot that can be used to access the configuration page.
The project is not open source, however use for non-commercial purposes is free.

#43272 Just as an additional information for people that do not watch the video or do not watch the video until the end: You can drop me a mail at iot-beta at urbiworx.de if you like to get the firmware and an unique access code to try it yourself.
