I am just returning to the ESP8266 after a long break. I have several 512k ESP8266-01s with an early ai-thinker firmware (0018000902) which I would like to update.

What is the latest suitable firmware and are pre-compiled non FOTA bins available for the 512K modules?

They say it can't be used on that page but the AT documentation says it's OK and gives instructions.

So I followed those instructions and flashed the AT 1.3 firmware using esptool.py and so far everything's working fine. Here's what AT+GMR returns:
