I just received two ESP8266 modules. I'm super-excited to try them...my goal is to activate a fish feeder via my smartphone over wifi with an Arduino for when I'm away from home for extended periods.
I connected the 8266 through an Arduino Uno...opened up the "bare minimum" sketch, and opened the Serial monitor. I tried sending the AT command, and finally received something back with a 19200 baud rate. The problem is that what I received back looked to be in Chinese characters...and I don't speak Chinese (or whatever language it is). How can I get the 8266 to communicate in English?
I am new to this whole electronics thing...sorry if this has been answered previously....but I truly appreciate any assistance!!
