I am new to this so I am not even sure if what I want to do is possible. I want to configure an ESP8266 wifi module as a standalone sensor. Basically the device will have 2 functions either on and connected to the wifi or off and not connected. For the purpose of this experiment I will be monitoring them using solarwinds and therefore will need to be able to statically assign an IP address if possible. Any ideas how I can accomplish this.
