I have my 8266 (model unk, uUSB, Rst/Flash button Makerfocus). Running VNC on RasPi-3, installed Arduino GUI, loaded the 8266 module. Did/tried to load "blink". The web page says the "red" pwr led ... my 8266 is blank. When i plug it in I get a momentary "blue" led (or hit Rst). I know it's up because I can see it on wifi, ping 192.168.4.1 etc but I need to change the IP because my local lan is 0.x not 4.x. I'm connected to ttyAMA0 - I think - I "upload" blink and nothing, no success no fail, no error ...
