Im having the same issue since I upgraded to 0.9.6dev (june 2015 version)
Sometimes, unexpectably, files get stuck. I can't delete them, can't overwrite, can't format.... I mean, all the commands reply "ok" but then a file.list shows the same unaltered files. Only solution so far is flashing fw. Everything else works. I can still run programs and it's all good until I need to modify something in the code.
And it's not related to free memory, )Im using tiny programs to report DHT22 readings to thingspeak. And I have the same come in 3 or 4 other ESP's and they don't fail, it's just random.
Would appreciate this being considered on next versions.
