Driving me mad, can not track down the reason spiffs is doing this, the test sketch operates fast each and every time no matter what, the same functions within another sketch and.... its SLOOOOOOW!

I have not looked into the SPIFFS code, but when a simple sketch works perfectly and a complex sketch does not work "as fast" the most probable cause is likely ICACHE is congested and 'thrashing'.
