How do i detect a framing error on the ESP Serial port? can i in some way get an interrupt when it occurs?

Unfortunately, you need a bit of test equipment help:
Saleae Logic is the general tool to use. There are cheap clones if you do not wish to invest in a Great product.
Some oscilloscopes now have logic analyzers built-in.
There are some PC based software to analyze the serial data.
