I have also seen that the short-time consumption consists of high current pulses superimposed to a relatively low background consumption. These are mostly HF emitting phases, so i will try to reduce the HF emitting time as much as possible and bundle the information in frames of several seconds. That should also reduce the transmission overhead, at the cost of a bigger latency.
