Personally I think serving HTML files within Arduino IDE will be a brilliant thing, getting away from LUA and nodemcu is a must due to limited resources and the overheads that both these solutions generate.
I agree to be able to separate HTML from our actual code will be a real step in the right direction and to be able to use BootStrap and node.js to give clean crisp web interfaces. I hope our super development team will take these points in to consideration when tweaking the later releases of this excellent solution.
