I noticed the Lang Ref keeps on progressing very nicely, and even includes mug-shots of shady characters and other illustrations in the web components, plus more and more examples being included... so would it be possible to add a current working example for 'interrupt' when time permits, pretty please?

hrmmm real cool unfortunately without seeing something going on with the whole udp thing I am kind of at a loss...
but if I am thinking right someone could build a weather station which would detect wind speed wind direction humidity rain/snowfall and temperature with a couple of node mcu's and some modules waterproofed somehow to detect all of this stuff and have the nodemcu talk to another nodemcu and display this data indoors for you to see as well as the indoor temp... maybe you could clear the screen before displaying each value and have the display display it in large letters and flash the next value like wind speed xxmph wind direction NE rain 1in Humidity 47% Outside Temp 72.3 Inside temp 78.7
Wow imagine that a complete weather station on the cheap as well as solar power and a battery to kick it all off have it enter sleep at the end and update every 5 minutes wow this would be way cool all weather data in your own back yard not data from some news station that may be 20 miles down the road or more. I've seen so many times where it said there is 100% chance of rain and it does not rain for an hour in my area but yet it says it is raining or snowing so you look out the window and are like hrmmm.... So much for that. An hour later or 15 mins later whatever it may rain or snow and your like well I suppose they were right but there are times when it skips me all together.

I couldn't find memclear listed in the Lang Ref (but sometimes I can't see the woods for the trees).
