REFLASHed my nodemcu by typing in COM 34 (Flash Size 4M):
FLASH WORKED: (“Uploading 491008 bytes from .\build\4M\ESP8266Basic.cpp.bin to flash at 0x0000..)
RESTARTed TERMITE on COM 34 to see what's happeneing.
Pressed RESET on nodemcu
TERMITE SHOWS:
0‚~?–4û!ƒ“’…[14]OCAZþû
Server listening Port: 80

Verified in the Network and Sharing Center that I am indeed connected to ESP access point.
Try to go to 192.168.4.1 get on CHROME: “This site can’t be reached”
RESET nodemcu again. Noticed that there was a little space of time between when TERMITE said “APpass” and then gave the 5 lines where winsock connected. So, right after got “APpass” message, jumped in and tried to load 192.168.4.1 in CHROME again.
Was able to then see the initial ESP8266 BASIC screen, with the menu starting with [VARS] at the top!
But after many tries, could never get to the [FILE MANAGER] and also could not get to [SETUP]. Everything seems completely dead now. Always got "This site can't be reached"
Pressed RESET again and then jumped in and tried to go to [SETUP] one last time. It worked! Then (with no changes to SETUP) I was even able to get to [FILE MANAGER] and even was able to go to [EDIT] my simple program, called "play", shown below:

Changed line 5, a = 399 to a = 400 , SAVED and RAN AGAIN.
This time after the CHROME screen cleared, the screen for many minutes, trying to do something with 192.168.4.1/run, has stayed empty while I wrote up this bug. The screen is still clear and trying to run.
TERMITE SHOWS that the system reset:
