- Mon Mar 21, 2016 8:27 pm #43754 I tried connecting very close, and it doesn't help. A regular serial usb works. The esp is sending the command correctly as was able to send from the esp and receive with a serial usb.

Im not familiar how serial really works. How ever this device that im trying to communicate with sends and receives in hex is that an issue? Im sending in regular text which i assume the software converts to hex.

The device im trying to communicate with is the EKM-Omnimeter I v.3.http://documents.ekmmetering.com/Meter_Communication_Parsing_Submeter_v3.pdf

I used serial monitor software, when the parity is set wrong i get that gibberish when i set it correctly i get it correct.

Seems like the update didnt work.

Im using espbasic version 1.90. Is that the latest?
