#54853 Thanks for the quick answers. Only one thing there is a typo in the subject. Its 16 MB not 6 MB but your answers will still apply. I will keep an eye on the forum because with the new 16 MB flash this will come up again.

Kind regards
Ockhams

#54883 Okay that makes things a bit different.

It is likely that you will only have 2MB of storage space in your case with a 16MegaBit flash. Whatever the Value is in megabits you must devide by 8 as 8 bits = 1 byte so MegaBits/8 = Size of flash.

I really wish the flash manufactures would not have used this naming convention it just adds confusion and makes users think they are getting more than they are. It is almost as if it were done intentionally as a sales gimmick to net more buyers for their products.

You will essentially just flash with 2MB version and go from there. Enjoy!

#54990 Holy cats you are correct. Pretty intense but in truth they should have came with larger memory from the get so we would not have the issues we face with including this library or that library or this functionality or that functionality I suppose.

Surely pretty interesting I dunno that it will be used but maybe one can never be sure I guess it is a good way to future proof the thing though.
