Datasheet for ESP8266 chip exist, but not for modules, only few jpg/png pinout can be found on the net ...

AI Thinker makes the bulk of the modules found on EBAY and Aliexpress and also manufactures the Espressif WROOM Module under contract according to a post I read here somewhere.
This thread on the AI thinker website has documents for most of the modules although there does not seem to be anything yet for the latest ESP12F.

Docs are a mix of Chinese/English have not yet tried running them through a translator.
