It depends on Kickstarter crowdfunding success....
Its KS Early Bird price is $10, wich makes it the cheapest WiFi module so far, and it is a genuine Linux OS, not a bare-metal MCU running a custom IP stack.
The target price will be below $13 for'the Domino Core, down to its campaign bargain price:

This is 3x / 4x the price of en ESP8266 board, but this is different but complementary category: the ESP8266 is more approriate for low-power WiFi sensors, whereas the Domino is targeted at higher end audio/video streaming, complex'routing and embedded servers / proxy.
