Thanks! I have a stable working setup now. But still don't have all the extras - resistors and capacitors in the right place. I will add it soon.

Thanks! I tried using a 12V, 2A switch mode supply and it's working now!! But I guess the 500mA was also a switch mode (I read a little about them) because it's really thin. But, I guess it was a current problem from the start.
