ESP8266 Community Forum

- Tue Feb 10, 2015 4:57 am #9380 I have been banging my head on this for quite some days now, still can't seem to figure it out.

How do I discover the ESP8266 device on my local network? All I need is the IP address of the device, which is unknown to the host? So that then I can start communicating with the device.

I see that there's still no support for UPnP or SSDP. I read CoAP is in works. The device doesn't respond to broadcast packets. I am trying to use IGMP, but not really hopeful of that either.

If any of you guys have figured it out, any help will be much appreciated.

It's still not ideal but I think it's better than nothing.
