the "MEM CHECK FAIL!!!" message appear too after an cloud update (CIPUPDATE command) !
which actually burn the version
AT version:0.21.0.0<CR><LF>
SDK version:0.9.5<CR><LF>

but the chip seem reply to AT command anyway !

The bad characters are boot messages that my usb-serial cannot understand at 115200, because they are sent at 76800.

This is on version:

AT version:0.25.0.0(Jun 12 2015 20:26:28)
SDK version:1.1.2
compile time:Jul 1 2015 12:01:27

I used esp-open-sdk to install the compiler and such.
