ESP8266 Community Forum

- Fri May 01, 2015 5:20 am #16174 Hi,thats the best reply ive seen yet for any info on the esp8266,i cant for the hell of me understand anything to do with this esp8266 and ive brought two of the dev boards "nodemcu 0.9", the sdk is so confusing its aimed at linux users we are pretty much limated to the arduino ide and thats not much good eather,what we need is folks is a good tutorial aimed at noobs like me that need the verry basics in lame mans terms or what ever you call it,out of all the stuff ive read ive not read anything about needing two files like described hear,all the tutorials dont make any sence to us noobs at all,like why is there so many firmware bin files,and why do they have to be flashed in the orders offsets etc,this needs to be explained clear,and in the esplorer ide why is there send to esp save to esp and upload to esp,dont they all do the same thing,please explain,and how do we compile new programs for it,are they the bin files i see,does the code compile into a bin file ? any help or pointers to a good tutorial would be great.thanks folks
