I finally got it thanks for all your input. It took 3 different computers and trying to flash multiple times but it finally flashed.
Could be the wires who knows it was sporadic but it worked. I am able to upload my Lua program no problem now but the flash process took forever.
P.S. GPIO0 needs to be held low during the boot to flash it
