Sorry in advance for this newbies' post.

I'm trying to figure it out how to star using an ESP-03 but I'm having problems on finding all the information needed to do so. (yes, I know there's a search box)

Can any one help me with this? I need a dummies' guide including
- the connection of ESP-03 to the computer with a USB to Serial interface
- needed tools/libraries to change firmware
- some kind of "hello world" example

If there's already a post including all of these or if you know that there are 3 or 4 separate posts that include this information for ESP-03, if you could just point them out to me I would be thankful.

Have you looked at the documentation on the wiki here: http://www.esp8266.com/wiki/doku.php? It might be a bit sketchy in places but if you find such a place, then do post back where it doesn't work or doesn't cover.

You should give some more specific information about your situation if you want help - for example, what sort of USB to serial interface do you have? Some are not (reliably) capable of supplying sufficient power, which can cause problems.

Also depending on your computer, the tools for flashing vary, also if you need to flash a 2MB module (such as the Olimex one) then you need to use certain tools. EDIT - sorry, re-read your post and realised you did say ESP-03

Hope that helps, and do post back to get some more useful advice, rather than meta-advice!!

As for material:
- ESP-3 & ESP-7 (on it's way)
- USB to serial above-mentioned
- Windows 7 (if there's any advantage, Debian/Suse)

you might take a look at my ESP8266 Quick Start Guide for Beginners which is meant to be an introduction for people new to the ESP8266.

It attempts to outline the beginning steps to get your feet wet and see quick results.

Feedback to make it better is encouraged. Particularly letting me know what is not clear or where you get stuck.
