#12516 I could recover my bricked ESP8266 after the AT+CIOUPDATE failed...

I used XTCOM as the flasher and flashed only the v0.9.2.2 AT Firmware at 0x00000 with it.

Here is some help:

http://www.rei-labs.net/esp8266-update-firmware-to-change-the-baudrate/2/
https://developer.mbed.org/users/sschocke/code/WiFiLamp/wiki/Updating-ESP8266-Firmware

Beware there is also the possibility to flash individual pieces like BOOT and others, but for me was easier just to flash the entire image.bin

#12596 It happened to me two times. I believe that the problem happens with the AI-Thinker firmware that download from iot.vowstar.net. Instead update works if you use espressif firmware that uses ot.espressif.cn site.

I was able to recovery uploading a new firmware.

#19476 I am with a lot of you in that none of the half dozen ways I've tried on windows or linux have been able to connect to either of my bricked esp8266's to reflash them. One bricked with the AT+UPDATE snafu, one died trying the Arduino 1.6.4 esp8266 upload (uses esptool). Same torent at 75471 baud from both of them.
I've tried the ways some of you say work to reflash for you. No luck.
Anyone else out there still as much in the dark as I am?
