- Thu Feb 19, 2015 2:02 am #10138 Had that issue on 2 modules which were working flawlessly for a long time. can't exactly remember what caused the problem for the first one but i replaced the flash chip and it get fixed. for the second module, i desoldered the flash chip again , while there was no chip, there was no problem, i soldered a new flash chip and again there was the problem... I was successfully downloading the firmware but after leaving the flash mode it started giving these errors.. (same as yours, downloading at firmware was only changing the error message..)

So long story short.. had the problem on 2 modules
For the first - replacing flash fixed the issue
for the sec - no luck.. it became a nice led
if you have a flash chip sitting somewhere, you may give it a shot good luck

- Sun Feb 22, 2015 8:15 pm #10469 Thanks for the reply. I don't have any flash chips lying around so for now, I think they will collect some dust. I have spares but wanted to de-brick them if possible. Next mouser order, I will throw in some flash chips and see what it does.

- Sun Feb 22, 2015 9:36 pm #10473 Had exactly the same problem as you have on one of mine ESPs. I ended up swapping the EEPROM but the bootloader issue remained. Ended up putting it aside until I get reminded to tinker with it.

Flash latest version
everything works fine until i hard cycle the power - fatal error


Could it be related to the LUA firmware? When I load the AI-v0.9.5.0 AT Firmware it seems to work fine. Also after cycling the power several times.
