ESP8266 Community Forum

- Sun Feb 22, 2015 8:04 am #10400 I have an ESP8266EX which I tried to update using the CIUPDATE. I got a whole load of garbage in return on the terminal when I tried to do this which went on and on and in the end I disconnected it.

Now when I fire it up all I get is a RED led on and the blue LED is flashing rapidly.

When I connect via terminal and screen I am getting a whole load of garbage back from the device.

I can no longer communicate with it.

Please help!!

- Sun Feb 22, 2015 12:08 pm #10420 Is GPIO2 connected to GND.? Try leaving it floating or connected to VCC

- Sun Feb 22, 2015 12:50 pm #10427 Floating, GND or VCC makes no difference. Just keeps doing what is in the video.
