I tried this and didn't get anything. I listened on port 53 (tried UDP and TCP) and got no requests. Is there something else I need to do?

@Bomb3rman I'd love to see your code too if you're able to share it. This is a great way of configuring your ESP - nice work!

And I wonder if this can be done in LUA.

I do too. I modified by LUA source to give the ESP as the DNS server and I have a UDP server on 53 but I don't know what to respond with.
