- Wed Apr 01, 2015 1:58 pm #13212 I'm looking for a good solution to temporarily get an ESP-12 set up for programming.
Something that it chip could somehow be dropped into (not permanently soldered down all pins)
that will let me download new firmware.
So that then the module could be taken out and placed in it's final home circuit.

Because bringing out gpio-0, tx & rx on every final board is kind of a pain.

but that will somehow work with the -12's


What are the rest of you all doing to get firmware into your ESP-12's?

- Wed Apr 01, 2015 9:22 pm #13234 Use 2mm spaced header pins soldered into the full-holes of the ESP-12. The module can then be plugged into a pair of 2mm sockets...

- Wed Apr 01, 2015 9:26 pm #13235 I'm trying to avoid soldering pins in since the final project doesn't require them and in fact to keep things as small as necessary can't have them.

- Thu Apr 02, 2015 12:29 am #13241 For the initial programming i use a little board with 2mm contact pins, the ESP is only jammed between the pins.
