#13380 Hi everyone ... Here is my problem ...

When My ESP8266-01 wifi module looses the wi-fi connection with the router or disconnects from the SSID it is connected , it starts to get really really hot ... This problem occurs perhaps it really requires more current while it searches for the wifi access point defined with AT+CWJAP command ... Am I the only one who encounters such a problem in the world ? .. You may see if this occurs by blocking the MAC address of your module from the configuration / setup page of your router / acccess point or , you may try quitting from the access point it is connected to .. I've realised this problem right after I've uploaded a new firmware to my ESP8266 because as you guys know very well , the module doesn't have a defined SSID and a password after a firmware change since it is entirely brand new module ... I'm using SDK 9.4 and for your information this problem has got nothing to do with the firmware version ...

Thanks in advance ..

#13486 Hi,
I do have a comparable problem.
Running: ESP8266-03 board with nodemcu dated 20150318 and SDK 0.9.5
Today I took a brand new one and flashed LUA and uploaded my programs. It runs for a while and at any time, there was no activity of the board and no wifi connection. ESP8266-03 got hot and that's it.
I made the experience with two of these modules now. No chance to reactivate WIFI only serial connection is possible. It does also not find the access point.
I am highly interessted to understand what is wrong.
