DTR and RTS... Interesting... Did you just notice those pins or what? Because... you don't even mention them on the page you linked to.
BTW, that link was supposed to show a picture... lost on a page, somewhere on your blog... Didn't you find how to upload an attachment on this forum??

Are you kidding or something?

On the provided link is a full description and PICTURES of a USB to Serial TTL converter module. Something more than a uploaded picture.

I notice the DTR and RTS pin a while ago, as been part of UART Interface. Also noticed CDC, DSR, RTS, CTS, RST, RI... and is nice to have a USB to Serial converter with ALL the pins available if possible. Some people are using them to do software autoupload on their ESP8266 modules. Even directly from Arduino IDE.

See also the picture below:
3_2 - Firmware Programming - Auto RESET RTS_DTR option - 3_2.jpg

I notice also that CP2102 is coming from a well known company, has a real datasheet, a signed driver, example code and support.

And I noticed also that you answering to my questions with questions. Still waiting answers.

Let's try to keep this thread constructive.

I am really interested to see also other alternatives.
Anybody any good experience to share with? CH340G? Or any other USB to Serial converter.

#16884 That's really a funny guy... I was just hinting at the fact that the sole purpose of 95% of his posts here is to hijack the traffic to his blog, and... what does he do? Post one more irrelevant link to his blog!
And man, is he verbose! He must have read somewhere that Google page rank algorithm includes word count. Even in quotes!
Apart from that? No information. Just more questions:

Let me answer that, just for him...

Now, Luigi, if you're still reading, whichever USB to TTL converter you'll buy, make sure it's really LVTTL compatible:

This is the last time responding to you on a non-technical related post but it looks that is necessary, maybe you will understand that sometime what you consider irrelevant might be relevant for the others.

Responding in an aggressive manner, when you throw informations that cannot be verified, it's a not very impressive way to avoid to answer.

People who will read carefully this thread will understand a lot, I'm sure.

Meanwhile, I still want to see a link with the PL2303 module, 40% cheaper, as claimed, and also the available pinout. I want to buy one, show me from where.

My irrelevant CP2102 Ebay links are below:

#16980 I've already kind of asked that, but since the OP didn't reply, I'll rephrase it.
Luigi, what do you mean exactly when asking about USB converters:
luigiDB wrote:Which is the best?

Erik and I already gave you our opinion about the cheapest one that works: Currently $0.69 USD, shipping included.
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/PL2303-U ... 94002.html

If you're more into the highest freaking number of exposed pins at a reasonable price:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/USB-2-0- ... 90758.html
(Someone should thank me for that link. In addition to the seller, I mean.)
Please note that I've NOT personally tried that one, so I can't recommend it. However, as I already advised, you should check the output voltage swing before using any USB to serial converter.

And finally, if you want to pay more for less, lose time on auctions, visit irrelevant web pages that bombard you with ads, popups, trojans, and what not... well, someone else already told you what to do.
