#25632 Which was to be expected, imho.

Try this: first a small coil (inductor) in series and then an tantalum capacitor parallel. This will reduce RF noise and ripple far more effectively.

Well I tried few of them already and I hope one of them would have had a different behavior.
Two last ones I tried (AI-v0.9.5.0 AT Firmware.bin and v0.9.5.2 AT Firmware.bin, 508K both) ended up with ESP showing:
