ESP8266 Community Forum

- Sat Aug 22, 2015 5:20 pm #26822 Hi everyone: This is my first post here, and I hope I didn't miss anything that would have helped me with my problem.

I am trying to install the ESP8266 Board Package into the Ardurino IDE (version 1.6.5).

After setting the "Additional Boards" URL in the Preferences Dialog Box to "http://arduino.esp8266.com/stable/package_esp8266com_index.json", I then click on Tools->Boards Manager, then I click on the "Type" drop-down box and select "Contributed".

Then I click on the "Install" button and the install hangs.

Does anybody have any debugging clues, or tips, or any help at all?

And I add the link to the "Additional Boards manager URLs."

How to fix the problem

Are you seeing specific errors ?
