- Mon Nov 03, 2014 12:45 am #2170 i had awful lot of trouble getting the ESP-03 module to work. This what I came up with to get the device up and running

Connect these lines
CONNECT GPIO15 TO GROUND
CONNECT CH_PD TO HIGH
test this with serial terminal with 9600bud

This should get the device going but then you need to change the firmware because the one came with mine did not reply to my AT commands
CONNECT GPIO 0 TO GROUND
with the the pins above. Then go with normal procedures to change the firmware. (115200bud)

After the firmware update, you still need to keep the GPIO15 at ground to work.



Hopefully somebody will come up with a good firmware to enable all the GPIO pins.

- Tue Nov 11, 2014 6:00 pm #2491 I've received my ESP-03 module this morning, but I wasn't able to make it work. No response from the UART, whatever the baudrate ...

@hansaya, are you sure it is only requires GPIO15 to ground and CH_PD to High (with GPIO0 as well to High) ?

I guess it is defective, I will have to order another one and wait 3-4 weeks
At least, in the mean time, I still have my ESP-01 ...

I bought 10 of these and already went nuts when no AT command gave an response.

with 115200 Baud i found 00160901 firmware

I will flash it now.

As yu can see in another thread, I've personnally find the issue I had, a bad soldering : viewtopic.php?f=6&t=462&p=2566#p2551.

But, just to let you know, someone also answered that virgin ESP-03 doesn't have any AT loaded : viewtopic.php?f=6&t=462#p2497
