#29777 This would be very crude. The forward voltage always depends a bit on the current. With an ESP8266 you can have 70 mA, but you can also have 0.9 mA. The resulting voltage changes can even toast the chip.

Please use a proper voltage regulator.

No rectifyer diodes black 1N4001 diodes connected in series.
Not the recommended method.
