You will probably have uncontrolled delays with sending data over wifi depending on congestion. Also because of the greater overheads compared with nrf or other radio systems there is a greater chance of collisions than if you could send the data very quickly.

So please do go ahead and test, because these theoretical problems may only affect you slightly, or cripple you.
