ESP8266 Community Forum

I am currently going insane trying to figure ou why my esp8266 is not working properly.
I hooked it up according to this diagram, using my ftdi232 breakout

However, when i fire up the esp instead of getting the "Ready" message in the seriel monitor of the arduino IDE i just get "invalid".

I would be really grateful if anybody could help me here!
