On the other hand, I guess that if you need a fully-fledged access point, you'd better go and buy one

Hi Erik,
I means, as the ugly workaround, to have a TCPServer server on the AP that will received commands to be re-directed to other clients, via separate TCPClients, acting simply as a command relay between to the 2 clients, all done in custom firmware. I know it is ugly, but it will work, although with some drawback on responsiveness.
