#40253 Saw another post on here about a programmer for the ESP01, and thought I should show what I did.

Its a nice little serial adaptor sold by DX.com (and probably others too) and I just added the reset and GPIO0 buttons to it.
It comes either with ESP, or just as the board by itself.
And the buttons I used are: http://www.dx.com/p/123653

The area under the module is GND, so it just needs the two wires from the pins on the module. Pretty neat.
I just drilled the 4 holes (measuring the correct spacing first!) and soldered the buttons in.

Just use this with your favourite USB FTDI adaptor. :D

#40273 Hi, a great little mod. Make sure when you use the buttons you press the reset first then GPIO 0. If not and your a running a sketch on the ESP that uses GPIO 0 as an output and it is high, it can be damaged when you short it to ground.

#40695 Check this out, I just built two of these.
They also feature an on board USB to Serial converter as well as a circuit to have only one button for reset and putting the ESP-01 into programming mode (by holding the button for a few secs). Awesome!
