#4352 Again, I am very appreciative of your replies.

I removed the AVR IC from the Arduino and did an echo test to make sure that I was communicating on the correct COM port which I was.

Did the usual Vcc (and CH_PD) to 3.3V, GND to GND, RX on ESP to TX on Arduino, TX on ESP to RX on Arduino (as per the attached diagram). I continuity tested all connections from the ESP Pins to the Arduino Pins. I tested at both 115200 and 9600 baud rate but to no avail.

I have seen from tutorials on the web that your should get a form of OK message when power is first attached. I don't get any of that. I have tried just sending a simple AT command down the line but the ESP does not respond.

Could it be that my ESP is faulty despite reporting as a WiFi access point and can be connected?

Thanks again,
Harold Clements
