The 192.168.5.1 is becoming the preferred IP is 1.0.0.99
GateWay 1.0.0.0
DHCP server 1.0.0.0
DNS server 1.0.0.0

current Ip's 192.168.4.1, 192.168.1.38
Tried--
IPAddress Ip = (192, 168, 5, 1);
IPAddress Gw = (192, 168, 5, 1);
IPAddress Nm = (255, 255, 255, 0);
WiFi.softAPConfig(Ip,Gw,Nm);

THEN - will not connect ....................

That's not correct C++ syntax. What you want is either

Code: Select allIPAddress Ip(192, 168, 5, 1);

or

Code: Select allIPAddress Ip = {192, 168, 5, 1};

that did the trick, now if I could get EEPROM.read to show something besides 255 for each char.....
