Does anyone know know how to make a fake device that can operate inside the ESP's IP stack? Maybe something's been ported from the ESP32?
It would be really cool [for a specific project] to be able to say "New packet arrived on virtual interface" and get a callback where the IP core could say "Hey, go send this packet!"
