#46127 I've made some tests:

1. I changed the battery source (3xAAA~4.5V) with a power adapter designed for breadboard of 5V and the ESP still fails to boot after wake-up from deep sleep - I also added in several configuration electrolytic and decoupling capacitors at the input and at the output of MCP1700
2. I added one more AAA battery at the 3xAAA and it boot successfully after deep sleep - 6V

the dropout voltage on MCP1700 is a few mA ... strange behavior

thanks

I added 1N4001 in series with 3xAAA and the same failure

thanks
