Good advice for people to remember - the different package types of semiconductors specify physical characteristics and manufacturers can choose their own pinouts. I was looking at the MCP1700 which seems to also match for pinouts.

OK, I'll look into that. I'm just starting with ESP modules with adapter boards so the power side of things is new to me. I've had a Gizwits Wizzy board for a while and it has everything ready to go. I'm still learning about what I need to do with the 'bare' ESP modules and these adapter boards.
