I pulled the Arducam library from the GitHub site and made some minor changes to the sketch file but I didn't touch Arducam.cpp or any of the libraries.
I do appreciate your help. I didn't realize there were other WiFi chips that can be controlled using a separate micro-controller so I'm going to try those out for now since that better suits my particular application. If those don't work then I may come back to the ESP8266 and try to get it to work.
