#51431 Hi, just a quick heads up on the ESP8266-12's, I have reflowed them before without any problem but today I have assembled another eight boards and two had shorts to ground under the ESP. When I removed the ESP's it looks like the short was to one of the meny little vias on the board. I'm not sure if I was a little heavy with the solder paste, the footprint was slightly different on these boards or if I just smudged the pase as I assembled the board. Anyway I hand soldered the same ESP's back onto the boards and everything is fine. From now on though I think I'll hand solder ESP8266-12's on to the boards after they have been reflowed.

Thanks again. I have most of the parts now so I am going to go two ways:

1. I am going to replicate that post I shared and let you know the outcome of using the Attiny and the step up regulator.

2. I am going to use an ESP12f as well.

With ESP12f are you saying that with deep sleep there would be no need for a step up, if not what do you suggest other than using the Attiny and the step up ?
