ESP-01 on breakout board: blue LED always on

- Tue Aug 02, 2016 4:46 pm #51968 The breakout boards are self-made (see first post). The other self-made boards are the same just without the 6pin FTDI header (and the resistors etc.). Despite that, if I power the ESP-01 directly (3V3, CH_PD, GND), the blue LED is also off.
What puzzles me: if there is a short, why can I switch off the blue LED via software?
