That came to mind but I didn't think more on it as you said you were using batteries and I thought if they were wrong then you would have noticed.

I didn't want to be critical before, but your pcb layout could be much improved. Next time you want a board made, maybe show it here so you can get some improvement suggestions.

Other measurements of known voltages were similarly wrong. I never would have suspected this. Well, eventually I did suspect it, hence my check. At least you solved the mistery and also is good that you found in a safe and non-distructive way that your DMM has become a piece of junk. Usually people are not so lucky, me included :)
