ESP8266 Community Forum

- Fri Dec 23, 2016 10:18 pm #59903 I had Arduino IDE version 1.6.13 already installed, when I did the ESPcore install via the board manager as outlined on the GitHub page. I am also running the IDE on win XP btw.

I find that I get the #include bits/config.h> file not found error when I try to compile code for the ESP01 generic. Arduino code for Arduinos seems to compile without error still btw.

I also find that I don't have any programmer listed for the ESP devices.

Is this perhaps attributable to my XP environment, or the 1.6.13 IDE version instead of the specified 1.6.8 version recommended in the git board manager install procedure?

Suggestions to get up and running?

Yes that is what I'm using, I selected NodeMCU 1.0 (ESP-12E Module) for the LoLin NodeMcu V3 board.
