Are SPI pins on WeMos D1 Mini usable as GPIO?

Are SPI pins on WeMos D1 Mini usable as GPIO?

- Sun Dec 25, 2016 5:18 pm #59956 I am getting a WeMos D1 Mini Pro and I see that suggested pinouts have pins D5/D6/D7/D8 as SPI pins. I thought these SPI pins were just for expansion and I have a PCB design coming with D5 to D8 set up as GPIO pins. Now I'm worried that these are the internal SPI pins used by the 16MB chip and just brought out which makes those pins unusable as GPIO.

Does anyone know the situation for these pins? What about a schematic? The only schematic I've found just shows the ESP12-F module as a component which doesn't help me any.
